SPECTRA MULTIMEDIA SIGNS 3-FILM DEAL WITH REGIONAL ACTRESS PRIYANKAA









Mumbai, 4nd May 2009: The Mumbai-based Film and TV software Production House Spectra Multimedia has signed a 3-film deal with upcoming regional actress Priyankaa. All three films will be made in Marathi and are expected to be completed by this year-end or mid 2010. While one film will be a family comedy, another will be based on a historical story. The third and last film is expected to be a suspense thriller.

By virtue of this 3-film deal, actress Priyankaa is also into a two-year exclusive artiste management contract with Spectra Multimedia who will handle all her film, advertising, endorsement and branding assignments.

Spokesperson and Executive Producer for Spectra Multimedia, Flynn Remedios said, “While we would not like to specify the exact budget of the projects, all of them would be big budget films when compared to the standards of the regional or Marathi film industry. While the films will be primarily in Marathi, they would have a multi-lingual approach with added dialogues in Hinglish to give them a larger appeal.” Spectra Multimedia through its distribution partners will release these films all over the country, he added.

Spectra Multimedia has been into Film and TV Production consultancy, co-ordination, management and marketing for the last two years. The company has successfully marketed and promoted several regional film projects and music videos in the past and is also producing crossover films in Hindi, Punjabi and English for the international market. Their specialization includes projects for International Film Festivals and DVD/VCD film marketing.

Young, energetic and sexy actress Priyankaa was seen canvassing for the Red FM 93.5 Vote Karo Ya Karwaun cause along with actor Arjan Bajwa, singer Abhijeet Sawant and Red FM radio jockey’s Mantra, Deepti and Rohini. Priyankaa who was shooting for a Marathi movie took time off to make it for the road show.

The group set off in a roofless, open double-decker bus from Worli in Central Mumbai with a street band in attendance. Wearing Gandhi caps, shawls and other ‘neta’ attire they stopped at various points along the route to Lokhandwala in Andheri. Prominent stops included Carter Road at Bandra and Juhu Chowpatty where the group extorted citizens to vote.

Said Priyankaa: “I am proud to be part of the Red FM 93.5 Vote Karo Ya Karwaun campaign. All of us should go out and exercise our franchise. We must vote for a better, stronger India.” She was accompanied by her publicist and manager Flynn Remedios who was instrumental in her joining the campaign.

The 20-year-old Priyankaa who has done several Marathi films and serials from the age of 16, recently stepped into Bollywood and mainline Hindi cinema. She is also doing a Kannada and Tamil movie down south. Prior to this, she featured in regional films in Punjabi and Bengali as a child artiste.

Priyankaa who is an amateur author and poet was last week roped in by a super exclusive book store called Indus at the Grand Hyatt in suburban Mumbai to add the glam component to the ‘more expensive than the Nano’ Limited Edition super books on sale at the store.

Mumbai, 25th April 2009: Pune-based actress and author Priyankaa will promote the Limited and Collectors’ Edition books at Indus – the Bookstore at the Grand Hyatt, Kalina, Mumbai. Mumbai’s premier and exclusive book lover’s hangout Indus, had earlier this month announced a unique exhibition of special Limited Edition and Collector’s Books from across the world.

On World Book Day – 23rd April - Gangadharan Javahar, Managing Director – Dolphin Publications Pvt Ltd said, “The Collector’s Book Festival at Indus at the Grand Hyatt in suburban Mumbai is an opportunity not to be missed. Indus – the book store is located at Hotel Grand Hyatt, Mumbai, which has a luxury mall housing most of the world’s leading luxury brands. It has another outlet located strategically at The ITC Maratha Sheraton, Mumbai and the Taj Residency, Nashik. The store has a special section devoted to rare books which are unavailable elsewhere. The book on Pele which is hand signed by him has only about a 1000 copies published world over and costs about Rs 1.5 lakh. Valentino and Panchatantra cost close to a lakh.
